Research Interests:

Evolution of duplicate genes in genomes

Using probabilistic models of biological sequence evolution to infer functional information.

Molecular phylogenetics, especially phylogenetic inference via maximum likelihood.

I spent a summer at Sandia National Laboratories' Computational Sciences Research Institute, working on creating a massively parallel version of the program Genehunter. Genehunter is used to locate genetic markers associated with inheritable diseases.
